In the chalk and talk session on the devdays I noticed that it is thought that LINQ is a solution for querying a SQL Server database. This only one of the possibilities in LINQ. You also Query XML or OLAP or Active Directory or a Sharepoint database using LINQ. The power of LINQ is that you van use with any number of datasources (LINQ is extensible) and you can do this in a language that is almost the same for all datasources. Further you can combine multiple datasources in one query.

LINQ is an important subject with the release of .NET 3.0 in front of us. The language extensions that were made for this version, in my opinion were made to make LINQ possible.
