Webpart does not work in preview

For my Sharepoint site I wrote a webpart. In this webpart I override the CreateChildControls(). In this method I create a dropdownlist with an event. When I Published my webpart and I previewed it, the event does not seem to work. In code everything looks fine and the controls were added to the control collection of the webpart.

At last I put the webpart on a page on the Sharepoint site and there everything worked fine. It only doesn’t work in preview.
